More before and after
This before and after stuff is sort of fun to see, so I thought I'd post some more. When we put our house on the market, we made some changes. This one was one of the easiest, but most dramatic changes. This is the vanity in the Master Bathroom. It took me about 3 hours, but well worth it. I took down the huge mirror - by myself. I don't recommend it, but I'm not one to wait for help. It came down without incident, but that sucker was heavy. I taped it up, like they always do on HGTV just in case it would break and figured out how the brackets worked. I removed the old light fixture, which you can't see here, but it was one of those long "Hollywood" lights with all of the round bulbs - not very impressive. I replaced it with a $40 fixture from Home Depot...luckily, I remembered to turn off the lightswitch first. There was major patching, sanding, and skim coating to be done from years of painting around the mirror and light fixture. After the gunk dried, I sanded again and then painted the wall - glad I kept the left over paint. A couple of $25 mirrors from El-cheapo Depot (Walmart), and some pix I had hanging in the basement, some rolled up towels in a basket I already had, and voila. The 7'x3' mirror is in our basement now - framed, waiting for a home. It was supposed to go in our bedroom in the new house, but since we aren't moving now, I have no idea where I'll end up putting it.
